According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, over the past three years, Ukrainian exports to China have grown almost 2.5 times. In 2020, Ukrainian companies exported $ 7 billion worth of products to China, or 14% of our country's total exports.
What are the requirements of China for products imported from Ukraine?
The peculiarity of regulating Chinese imports is the decisive role of government agencies in the procedures for gaining market access, so the key are interstate agreements between the authorities of Ukraine and China, especially on food.
Ukrainian products are exported to China under the so-called most favored nation or MFN ("most favored nation"). It is estimated that the average level of import tariff for Ukrainian goods is about 10%, while for agricultural products it is higher than for industrial goods.
The standardization and certification system in China is also centralized, with the state playing a leading role. The country has Guobiao National Technical Standards (GB) and China Compulsory Certification (CCC) for a range of industrial products.
